  • Camp STN Presents Four-State Conference
The first-ever Four-State Conference For Scholastic Broadcasters is coming this fall. Presented by Camp STN October 25-27 in Springfield, MO, this event is designed to bring together students and teachers from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri for a regional event. Registration is now open.

  • Kansas City, Here We Come
The 2008 Camp STN for students will be hosted by Lee's Summit West High School near Kansas City, MO. In addition to the new location, the student camp has been moved from late June to early August for the first time.

  • Returners Camp Moved To July
Teachers who have previously attended Camp STN have their own returners-only camp, and it has been moved to July 13-18 in Springfield, MO. The camp for returners takes place in even years only, so this will be the last one until 2010.

The philosophy of Camp STN is to provide great instruction in the morning, hands-on work in the afternoon, and to supply feedback and field work designed to take everyone to the next level.

Our camps are tailored for beginners, the more experienced, and even the very experienced. Meeting and working alongside others with common interests, problems and goals is one of the key components of Camp STN.

Sessions are led by Dave Davis, the adviser of the nationally-recognized HTV Magazine, produced at Hillcrest High School in Springfield, MO. The staff includes top advisers from the scholastic broadcasting world, plus inspirational professionals who provide special insight and advice.

Editing stations featuring Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro software are provided. Teachers and students bring their own cameras, mics, and tripods for shooting assignments. Equipment will be loaned to campers whose schools can not provide it.
