UPCOMING SESSIONS:
Returning Teachers: July 11-16, Springfield, MO
First-Time Teachers: July 18-23, Springfield, MO
Students: July 25-29, Kansas City, MO

At Camp STN, teachers will experience lessons first-hand they can take back to their classrooms to use with their students in the fall. Some sessions will even offer you the option to earn graduate college credit at the same time.

The entire week is organized to take teachers from basic, challenging assignments to the more complex, demanding tasks associated with producing an entire camp show -- all shot in the field and edited in one day! While the daily deadlines provide a measure of stress, there are always a number of real-world applications to be made when everyone reflects at the end of the day.

We've been putting our "teacher as student" philosophy to use since our first camp in 2000. Since then, dozens of teachers from 45 states -- from Hawaii to Florida, from Michigan to Mississippi -- have learned with us. It is our goal to give you the kind of experience you will take to heart, the kind of challenges that will inspire you to be better than you've ever been. Your school's broadcasts will reflect what you learn at camp.

Lessons include videography, news writing, news gathering, interviewing, digital editing, assigning staff positions, taking on challenging topics, dealing with adminstrators, raising money, using the Internet, ethics, creative productions, covering sports, and a survey of outstanding student-produced work from around the U.S.

We're confident Camp STN will meet your needs as a educator of broadcast journalism. Click the red button below to see our list of upcoming sessions and find the one that's best for you.
